The Canisius College Graduate Deaf Education program faculty is as unique as the program. Not only are they instructors at Canisius, but many of them are teachers and staff at the St. Mary's School for the Deaf or come from local public school environments. This enables the faculty to be available to the graduate students beyond their course teaching and, because the faculty are in regular contact with children who are deaf or hard of hearing, they can speak from experience as they teach their courses. Each one is an active participant in organizations of deaf educators and performs services and research in their particular areas of expertise.
