Digital Media Arts
The Digital Media Arts (DMA) program, offered through the Communication Studies Department, focuses on converging fields of digital design, animation, video and interactive media. Students specialize in web and graphic design, digital filmmaking, 3-D modeling/animation/visualization and game design.
State-of-the-art facilities enable students to take a hands-on approach to learning. Students will learn how to use cutting-edge software, including Adobe CS, Maya, Final Cut Pro and Ableton Live - all running at the most up-to-date versions available.
DMA majors take a core set of courses and choose electives from a wide variety of advanced classes. Students often complete dual majors and minors that combine important cross-functional skill sets, including Communication Studies, Business/Marketing, Computer Science and Fine Arts.
DMA students will be prepared to take advantage of the expanding job opportunities in:
- Graphic design
- Video production
- Electronic publishing
- Online information services
- Content development for CDs and DVDs
