Prospective Students

Disability Support Services at Canisius College offers support services to both undergraduate and graduate students with disabilities. Students must self disclose and provide documentation of their disability. Accommodations are made, based on the documentation provided, on a case-by-case basis. It is suggested that prospective students make an appointment with a DSS staff member to determine accommodations and services.

Admissions
Canisius College offers an array of support services to students with disabilities who are admitted to the College. The admission procedures for students with disabilities are the same as for all applicants. Students are evaluated on the basis of their high school transcript and grade point average, as well as SAT/ACT scores. Campus tours can be arranged through the Admissions Office (716)888-2200). A tour is strongly suggested so that you can evaluate accessibility on campus and meet with the DSS staff.  Please visit the Canisius College Admissions website at

In order to obtain academic and non-academic accommodations, the student who has been diagnosed with a physical, psychological and/or cognitive disability must register with the Office of Disability Support Services, complete the DSS intake form, and provide current documentation by a licensed or certified official stating the disability.  In the case of most disabilities, the documentation should be no more than three years old. The student must meet with a professional in the DSS office to discuss their need for accommodations, and to become familiar with the procedures.
