Serving as a leader within a school organization is one of the most demanding and rewarding careers. As a school leader, one has the opportunity to shape the lives of learners of all ages. Students in the Canisius Educational Administration Program are expected to maintain the desire to be a leader, but also possess a rich history of excellence as an educator.

The Canisius College Educational Administration Program is designed to assist students in acquiring the knowledge, skills, and dispositions essential to a successful career as a school leader.  This competency-based program leads to two New York State certifications: the School Building Leader (SBL) and the School District Leader (SDL). Additional and specific course work is required for a master's degree.  All courses are taught Monday-Thursday evenings, 4:15-6:45 or 7:00-9:30. Many of those same courses are offered via distance learning. Please see the Curriculum page for additional information about distance learning and web-based courses.
