

1. A completed Canisius graduate admissions application. You can apply on-line here.
2. Two official college and/or university transcript(s) showing completion of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher learning. Transcripts may be sent to you our directly to Canisius College by your institution. If sent to you, they will be in a sealed envelope that should be forwarded to us unopened.
3. Two letters of recommendation. Letters may be from academic or work-related references.
Admission will require a 2.7 cumulative undergraduate GPA. Applications for candidates with less than a 2.7 cumulative GPA will be reviewed by the appropriate program director for an admissions decision and may include additional requirements (e.g., personal interview, GRE/GMAT, etc.)
4. Canadian and other international applicants must provide a completed Certification of Finances Form. Click here (.pdf) to print and complete the COF. (You can download Adobe Reader to view the above PDF link.)
5. Additionally, Canadian applicants should provide unofficial high school transcripts if you have OAC/grade 13 credits. OAC/grade 13 courses may count toward prerequisites in your program of study.Note: Educational Administration, Sport Administration, and Deaf Education have additional requirements, e.g., one additional letter of recommendation, personal interviews, etc. See program sites for details.
6. International applicants who are citizens of non-english speaking countries are required to provide:
- Proof of English proficiency. The most common means is submission of an official TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) score of at least 61 on the internet based exam (173 on the computer based exam or 500 on the paper based version).
- Official transcripts with certified English translations converted into U.S. equivalents, i.e. grades, course credits, etc. World Evaluation Services is one organization providing this paid service. Other organizations may also be accepted.

Deadlines: Applications are processed on a rolling basis as they are received for each of our start terms. Although most programs do not have deadlines, we recommend submitting all application materials at least 30 days prior to the start date for the term you wish to begin. Earlier application is encouraged and will ensure the best scheduling options since some course sections may become unavailable.
If you prefer a paper application, you may download forms here and/or contact the Graduate Admissions Office to request information and receive an application with the information packet that will be mailed to you. Once accepted, your place in the program will be reserved by submitting a $100 tuition deposit (non-refundable) in U.S. funds. Your deposit (and COF for international students) will allow you to register for classes. See the Admitted Student link for more information.
If you have been an inactive student for two years or more, you must complete a Re-admit Form. Once the online form is received and processed, you will be able to register for class.
