What makes Canisius different:I have been blessed to work with colleagues and students that have enriched my experiences at Canisius College. The highlights of my academic career have included those experiences in which I participated with a team of teacher educators all moving towards a common goal. I strongly believe, as a leader, in working with others with a positive and productive spirit. Whether as a leader or a team member, I have found myself inspired by those around me and sought to capitalize on each member’s strengths for the good of whole. Through all of my professional experiences, the true highlight of my academic career has been working with both undergraduate and graduate students. I find nothing more fulfilling than having an opportunity to get to know students better and finding ways to support their academic and personal growth. Canisius College is a place where the students are at the center of our work; developing their intellectual, spiritual and personal gifts and where each person’s gifts are utilized.

Other Information:Teaching is the joy of my life. I find nothing more gratifying than my work with students. I feel a deep commitment to each one’s development as teacher and a person. Teaching courses in the Graduate Childhood Program and now, a Freshman Year Seminar course have highlight my teaching at Canisius College. I value the opportunity I have to shape future generations of teachers through my teaching and take this responsibility seriously. I also value the collaboration with students in my research and find the most teachable moments arise in this work.
I am mom to three beautiful daughters: Allison, Megan and Shannon. I am married to my husband, Todd. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, reading and running.
