- TASKSTREAM: What is it? Taskstream (www.taskstream.com) is a customizable, electronic portfolio assessment management and performance based instruction tool. You will use Taskstream to complete, submit and have required course assignments evaluated by instructors. At the beginning of your program you should be given assessment guidelines that outline Taskstream requirements. In addition, instructors will discuss with you course requirements that need to be completed on Taskstream.
Undergraduate
All undergraduate students in initial teacher preparation programs in the School of Education (SEHS) are required to have a Taskstream account (except Athletic Training and Physical Education Non-Teaching). When they enroll in either EDU 122 or PED 150, their Canisius account is automatically charged for a four year account. The instructors of these courses help students create and become acquainted with the features of Taskstream.
Graduate
Due to the great variation of length of time needed to complete a graduate program, graduate students purchase their own account for the length of time they deem appropriate to finish their program.
The following graduate programs require students to enroll in Taskstream:
• Literacy
• Childhood Education
• Adolescence Education
• Physical Education
• Differentiated Instruction
• Educational Leadership
• Special Education

When I register for Taskstream, they tell me that my Student ID# needs to be 8 digits, when the one I was issued is only 6 digits. What should I do? What if it is 9 digits? If Taskstream tells you that you need an 8 digit Student ID# when you only have a 6 digit one, simply add two zeroes (00) to the beginning of your Student ID. For example, if your Student ID is 123456, add the two zeroes to the beginning to make it 00123456. If your Student ID is 9 digits because it begins with a zero, such as 023456789, simply remove the 0. Therefore, your ID# would read 23456789.
Why do some of my completed assignments appear under the heading “Past Rubrics”? Will they still be used in my portfolio?
Yes, these assignments will still be used in your portfolio. This just means that newer rubrics have been put up on Taskstream for candidates who are completing the assignments currently.
