Environmental science majors complete two required internships, which strengthen career preparation and enhance classroom work. Several internships have led to job opportunities immediately after graduation. Internships in the analytical chemistry lab at Waste Stream Technology and in risk assessment at Ecology and Environment both led to job offers for Canisius students. For those planning to attend graduate school, an independent research project in environmental science can take the place of an internship. Often this research is used for the foundation of the student's graduate research.
