Students who major in environmental science are well prepared for positions in environmental consulting, environmental regulation and monitoring, environmental conservation, environmental health sciences (toxicology, occupational health, health physics, industrial hygiene, the water quality industry), and the ecological sciences. Recent Canisius graduates have been hired by Ecology and Environment, Waste Stream Technologies, Alaskan Observers, RECRA Environmental Consulting, City of Buffalo Public Health Lead Program and the U.S. Army.
The curriculum also provides the required background for graduate study in the ecological, environmental health and environmental sciences. Recent graduates are pursuing advanced degrees in environmental sciences at the University of Charleston, in toxicology at the University of Georgia, in environmental toxicology at the Medical University of South Carolina and in wildlifle toxicology at the University of Nebraska.
