You will be! The Fashion Merchandising program at Canisius, in conjunction with the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City, combines marketing and fashion-related courses to provide a solid curriculum for students interested in a career in the fashion industry.  Students accepted into the program spend either their junior or senior years in New York City at FIT, where they complete coursework in fashion design, manufacturing and retailing. Upon graduation, students will receive a B.S. in Marketing from Canisius and an Associate’s degree from FIT – that’s accomplishing a lot in just four years!

  • The Canisius – FIT partnership gives students a unique opportunity to get a degree in a nationally ranked marketing program, and the ability to spend a year in NYC, the fashion capital of the world. Fashion Merchandising students find that their three years at Canisius prepares them for the many opportunities that go along with living and working in NYC, including – building professional relationships, getting internships and careers in the fashion industry, and giving them a much-needed edge in a competitive industry. 
  • Study Abroad Encouraged – Studying abroad is an integral part of the Fashion Merchandising program, and past students have spent a semester or more in Italy, Spain, and London.
