graduate assistantships

DESCRIPTION - The assistantship is designed to give the graduate student varied experiences involved in the undergraduate Physical Education Teacher Education program, as well as offering a diverse program of studies leading toward the Master's Degree.  Teaching in our professional development schools is also a possibility.

The position is available for the academic year 2009-2010 - beginning August, 2009.

ELIGIBILITY - Qualified graduates of an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in Physical Education/Health or related field.  Preference will be given to those who have teaching certification.

STIPEND – Graduate assistants receive 24 credits toward the Master’s Degree Program (33 credits) with the possibility of an additional stipend depending on budget.

CANISIUS COLLEGE - is a private, independent Jesuit college.  A Buffalo landmark since 1870, Canisius College has woven itself intimately into the history of the Western New York community by offering its citizens a quality education.  Canisius College is a member of the Metro Atlantic Conference which competes at the NCAA Division I level.

Established as a liberal arts college, Canisius has grown to include a Graduate Division. The graduate program in Physical Education is housed in the School of Education and Human Services.
