PEG 571 Assessment & Evaluation

PEG 511 Movement Activities for the Elementary Child
(includes 50 hrs. of field experience for US students)  Pre/Corequisite: PEG 571

PEG 503  New, Wall and Fitness Activities

PEG 504  Invasion Games

PEG 605  Team Building Through Adventure Activities

PEG 541b Teaching Methods Childhood Physical Education
(includes 50 hours of field experience for US students)  Prerequisite: PEG 511

PEG 530   Physical Education for the Exceptional Individual

PEG 560  Motor Development (US Students) or
PEG 572
  Seminar in Teaching and Assessment (Canadian Students)
(includes 100 hours of field experience in Ontario) 

PEG 593 Student Teaching. Two seven week placements: Childhood grades 1-6 and Adolescence grades 7-12

PEG 594 Student Teaching Seminar
EDU 595 Child Abuse Seminar
EDU 596 Prevention of School Violence Seminar

The following items are also required for New York State certification:
  • LAST - Liberal Arts and Science Test
  • ATS-W - Assessment of Teaching Skills - Written
  • CST - Content Specialty Test
  • Fingerprinting
Additional Three Courses Required for Master of Science Degree in Physical Education:

PEG 680  Research Methods in Physical/Health Education

PEG 584  Comprehensive Exam, Project or Thesis 

Elective - any PEG or graduate education elective
