New Student Orientation - January

Welcome! Our mandatory one-day New Student Orientation (NSO) program for new first year and transfer undergraduate students enrolled for the Spring 2017 semester will be on Friday, January 13, 2017. January NSO will take place in the Grupp Fireside Lounge, Richard E. Winter '42 Student Center − 2nd floor.

Registration

Registration for New Student Orientation will begin on November 15, 2016 and will only be available online through myCanisius, the new student portal. You will need your Canisius username and password that was issued to you at the time of your acceptance by the Admissions department. If you do not know or have misplaced your username or password, please contact the Information Technology Services (ITS) Help Desk at 716-888-8340.

Once logged in select the box titled "New Student Orientation" on the left hand side of the screen and then click on the "Register for Orientation" on the right hand side of the page. In order to accommodate the needs of all students, it is important that you register online by Thursday, January 5, 2017.

Orientation Fee

The fee for January New Student Orientation is $50. This fee will be applied to your spring tuition bill and is non-refundable.

Parking

All students and guests are asked to park in the Science Hall Parking Ramp (corners of Jefferson and Delavan Avenues). The entrance to the ramp is on Jefferson Avenue. A parking permit is not required during January Orientation. Please click here for directions to Canisius as well as a campus map.

Canisius College Student ID Cards

All students are required to have a Canisius College Student ID Card. You are required to submit/upload your photo for your student ID. You will also be able to take your photo and pick up your ID at Public Safety the day of orientation.

To submit your photo log into myCanisius with your username and password, “click” on the ID Card Photo button located on the left hand column of the portal page, and follow the directions listed.

You will be notified by email once your photo has been approved. Your student ID card will be available for pick up at January New Student Orientation.

Attention all International (non-Canadian) and Exchange students:

Immunizations

Please note that all Canisius College students must submit a Physical Examination and Immunization form to the Student Health Center. For more information on these requirements, visit the Student Health Center website.
