Abstract: The set of 2 × 2 invertible matrices with real entries acts on the Upper-Half Plane as isometries of the hyperbolic metric. In this talk, we will describe a generating set of matrices for such an action. Also, we will determine the "fundamental domain" of the action (i.e. an ideal hyperbolic triangle whose translations tiles the hyperbolic plane).
