The International Relations major program, the first of its kind in Western New York, provides an interdisciplinary approach to the study of international relations, encourages students to study abroad in a variety of different programs and fosters a basic understanding of international economics and business. International Relations may also be taken as a minor. The program is distinguished by extensive study abroad opportunities in Australia, Belgium, China, El Salvador, France, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Mexico, Japan, Spain, and Sweden.
The Canisius AdvantageThe Canisius College International Relations Progam is distinguished by internships in western New York, Washington, and overseas and includes a semester-long, foreign-policy program in Washington, D.C., where students intern in a congressional office, government agency or private organization.

Elise Garvey '07 and
Adam Walters '08 are the recipients of Fulbright Scholarships. Garvey traveled to Ukraine to explore the development of a response to human trafficking in the country on the domestic and international levels. Walters will use his Fulbright Scholarship to study governmental and non-governmental responses toward the emerging issues of climate change in Lima, Peru.
