Atlantis/ TRANSIT
The Transatlantic International Business and Trade Scholars Grant was awarded to College by the United States Department of Education. Only six other U.S. Institutions received the prestigious honor. The study abroad program is a 13 month program divided between Antwerp, Belgium and Strasbourg, France. Students must be business majors with prior courses in French. This study abroad opportunity will allow students to earn a European degree. as well as a Canisius degree. Students will be granted a monthly living allowance of $1,200 while studying abroad.

The IECS, Strasbourg School of Management strives to educate students, business managers and directors with international expertise. Each year more then 150 international students pursue coursework at IECS.

University of Antwerp
The University of Antwerp is located in the cultural heart of Europe. Students have access to a rich history that is noted for art museum, operas the largest movie complex in the world, and of course Antwerp houses the largest diamond industry in the world. The native language in Belgium is Dutch but English is spoken everywhere. 

Eligibility & Admission:
Students who have completed three semesters in college-level study are eligible for the program. A cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale is required. Recommendations from professors will be considered in the selection of candidates.

Approximate Program Cost (to be paid to Canisius): (IECS Strasbourg)
Canisius tuition ($14,100), study abroad fee ($500) and mandatory health insurance (approx. $140 for fall 2009 and $175 for Spring 2010). 

Cost to be paid by Student
Living accommodations in a university residence estimated at about 240 euros (about $360). Shared apartments cost approx. 300 euros (about $400) per month to 375 euros (about $560) a month. Additional cost include 200 euros (about $300) for French Social Security, approx 35 euros (about $52) for a semester bus and tram pass, airfare, meals and personal expenses.

Students who spend a year at IECS may be eligible for a housing subsidy. All Atlantis students receive a monthly stipend of $1200 to help with expenses.

Currency conversion is estimated at 1 euro = $1.50

For matriculated Canisius students only, 100 percent of Canisius College scholarships and grants will be applied to your program costs.  Program cost subject to currency fluctuation.
