


Beijing Center for Chinese Studies:
The Beijing Center for Chinese Studieshas been educating students since 1998. The Center is housed at the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE). Outside the uniersity are shops, the Museum of Chinese Literature, residential areas, restaurants, hotels and parks. It is a short walk to the light rail that will take you to the subway stations. The campus is also not far from the Beijing International Airport and the American Embassy. The city of Beijing offers students a taste of Chinese tradition as well as many modern amenities. It is a city that is rapidly growing, and this is partially due to the city offers.
Eligibility & Admission
Students who are 2nd semester sophomores or juniors with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher on a 4.0 scale are eligible to participate. Recommendations from professors and advisors will be considered in the selection of candidates.

Approximate Program Cost (to be paid to Canisius):
Canisius tuition (approx. $14,100), study abroad fee ($500), and mandatory health insurance (approx. $140 Fall semester and $175 Spring semester). Program costs include up to 18 credit hours, special banquets and dinners, orientation program in Beijing, an individual tutor for Chinese language, day trips in and around Beijing, and designated program field trips.
Costs to be paid directly by student:
Program costs do not include housing ($950 for a shared double room), Loyola Chicago application fee $50, and Loyola Chicago non-refundable program deposit $500. Airfare (estimated at about $1500), most meals, books, optional trips and entertainment are also not included.
For matriculated Canisius students only, 100 percent of Canisius College scholarships and grants will be applied to your program costs. Program cost subject to currency fluctuation.
