Sophia University
Sophia University is located near the center of Tokyo and Shinjuku, the Meiji Shrine, and the Imperial Palace.  Sophia’s campus includes a library, computer labs, faculty and administrative offices, and classrooms.  The campus presents a harmony of its historical buildings and the modern Building 2, a symbolic tower of the 21st century.  You will enjoy a rewarding campus life as a member of the Sophia family which consists of 11,600 students and 1,000 faculty and staff.

Sophia University is a private international institution which traces its roots to the 16th century Jesuit St. Francis Xavier who wished to introduce Western culture to Japan.

Contemporary Japan is a land of intrigue.  It is interesting how a country can uphold its ancient traditions while adapting to today’s economy.  Tokyo, Japan's capitol and economic hub, is a shining example of how old traditions and new high-tech culture meld to create one of the most fascinating cities in the world.

Courses for study abroad students which are generally taught in English include most humanities, social sciences, and some science classes.  To view more detailed course description please visit the Sophia University Web page.
