Policy on Palm and Multifunctional Palm/Cell Phone Units
Academic Computing (AC) will provide the following support for Palm Handheld units (PDAs) or multifunctional Palm/Cell Phone devices (Smartphones). AC will provide the initial installation of all Palm PDAs and PalmOne Smartphones using the Palm Operating system. AC will also provide technical support limited to basic software troubleshooting and, if necessary, data backup and re-installation of original software. AC cannot be responsible for, or guarantee owner-installed software or data above and beyond that which Canisius supports. Supported software is defined as those components that are native to the device. Data loss or integrity cannot be guaranteed.
If there is damage to a Canisius-purchased device, AC will provide hardware assistance limited to communicating with PalmOne Technical Support, and returning the device for repair or replacement. Each department will be responsible for repair or replacement costs not covered under the standard PalmOne warranty.
