Kahng Travels to Belgium on Fulbright
Associate Professor of Mathematics Byung-Jay (BJ) Kahng, PhD, is in Leuven, Belgium this academic year as part of the J. William Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program. Kahng received a grant from the foundation to conduct research on quantum groups and non-commutative geometry at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. This area of scholarship combines operator algebras and quantum physics. The mathematics group at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven has long been among the prominent centers for research on locally compact quantum groups and related topics.
Named for Senator J. William Fulbright, the U.S. Scholar Program sends American scholars and professionals abroad to lecture or conduct research for up to one year.
