Canisius Chosen for Bon Jovi’s Service Campaign
Buffalo, NY - Six Canisius students will be backstage when the “BON JOVI Because We Can – The Tour” comes to Buffalo’s First Niagara Arena on Sunday, February 24. In the spirit of their commitment to community, the band has opened their 2013 tour production to local college students through the Bon Jovi “Because We Can” Community Service College Campaign.
The college’s mission and Jesuit tradition of being “men and women for others,” made Canisius a perfect fit for the campaign. The following students were chosen to participate based on their exemplary volunteer efforts and community leadership skills:
- Tanner Gelatt ’13
- Melissa Gretzler ’13
- Jamie Hitro ’13
- Michael Jaoude ’13
- Mariel Klein ’13
- Brock Wilkinson ’14
On the day of the show, the students will work closely with Bon Jovi’s management and production teams to learn the ins and outs of what it takes to put together a major tour. The students will then enjoy the concert from their complimentary seats.
One of 28 Jesuit universities in the nation, Canisius is the premier private university in Western New York.
