Benedetti Named Vice President for Business and Finance

BUFFALO, NY ― Canisius President John J. Hurley announces the appointment of Marco F. Benedetti as the new vice president for business and finance. As a member of the college’s senior administrative team, Benedetti is responsible for all financial and administrative functions of the college, including finance, audit, facilities, human resources and business services. He works closely with President Hurley to formulate the institution’s overall fiscal strategies and serves as liaison to several Board of Trustees committees.

“Marco comes to Canisius with 25 years of experience in building and leading accounting and finance teams, said Hurley,” I am confident in his ability to guide the fiscal strategies of the college in alignment with its strategic plan.”

He was most recently with Greatbatch, Inc., the Clarence-based publicly-traded medical device and technology company, where he served as principal accounting officer and treasurer before he was promoted to vice president of finance in charge of financial planning and analysis, investor relations and treasury activities. Benedetti previously was director of finance and corporate controller at International Imaging Materials, Inc. (IIMAK). He began his career in auditing in the Buffalo office of KPMG.

Benedetti holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in management information systems and an MBA with concentrations in accounting and finance from the University at Buffalo. He is a Certified Public Accountant.
