

The Physical Education Department offers graduate study leading to the Master of the Science in Education degree. The two distinct degree programs are designed to develop job-related competencies with a goal of producing physical education professionals, sports scientists and health educators, who are knowledgeable and skilled in the administration of physical activity programs.
INITIAL CERTIFICATION/MASTERS DEGREE - PHYSICAL EDUCATION, K-12 - ACCESS PROGRAM
The master's program in physical education is designed to provide initial teacher certification in physical education for both U.S. and Canadian candidates with bachelors degrees. The physical education teacher certification program is open to candidates of all academic majors from history to sport management. The program is ideal for students with degrees in kinesiology, exercise science, health and wellness, etc. who may already meet most of the prerequisite course requirements.
ON-LINE MASTER OF SCIENCE IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION
This program is designed for certified physical education teachers who are seeking a graduate degree in physical education to satisfy professional certification requirements.
