The Mathematics Tutoring Center provides assistance to students who need help in mathematics, statistics and other quantitatively-based courses. Tutors are undergraduate and graduate math and/or mathematics education majors who have completed at least one year of college calculus courses.
Students wishing to utilize the services of the Math Tutoring Center, located in Old Main 318, simply stop in at their convenience with no appointment necessary: convenient hours are posted. Tutors are trained to assist in completion of homework assignments, quiz and test preparation, as well as guidance in study skills specifically necessary for mathematics courses. Assistance is also available for other courses based upon the talents of the individual tutors; these additional courses are listed on the schedule as well.
The Tutoring Center also handles referrals for private tutoring of non-Canisius students when possible. For information on this service, please contact Rose Marie Castner, director of the Math Tutoring Center, at 888-2894.
