Where are Canisius grads now?
While post-graduate education is not a requirement to a rewarding career using a math and statistics major, it does help especially if you want to pursue opportunities in elementary and adolescent education, the sciences or business. Additional exams and certifications are needed to gain additional opportunities in actuarial fields. Some graduates are working at places such as:
Great West Life Insurance in Toronto
Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Western NY
Merchants Insurance Group
Southern & Western Insurance in Cincinnati
Canisius graduates who majored in mathematics are employed as financial analysts, a corporate CEO, an actuarial services specialist and a professor of mathematics. Graduate schools attended by Canisius College mathematics majors include Duke University, Boston College, University of Michigan, Carnegie Mellon University, Penn State, Ohio State, Rutgers, the University of Buffalo and elsewhere.
