Press the POWER button on the SMART Board Control Panel. Allow the projector time to warm up before proceeding. The power button for the DVD/VCR is located in the lower left corner of the combo unit.


The volume is adjusted using the knob located on the SMART Board's right speaker.


Once the equipment is powered up, insert the videotape into the VCR portion of the combo unit. Next, press the VIDEO (DVD/VCR) button on the SMART Board Control Panel to display the VCR image on the screen. Use the buttons on the face of the unit for: STOP, PLAY, Fast-Forward (FF), and Rewind (REW). To remove the videotape, press the EJECT button, which is located to the right of the tape door. Additional functions are available using the remote control provided.


Once the equipment is powered up, press the EJECT button to the right of the disc tray and insert the DVD. Next, press the VIDEO (DVD/VCR) button on the SMART Board Control Panel to display the DVD image on the screen. Use the buttons on the face of the unit for: STOP, PLAY, Fast-Forward (FF), and Rewind (REW). Additional functions are available using the remote control provided.


The computer must be started and shut down manually.

Once the computer has been powered up, press the COMPUTER 1 (LOCAL PC) button on the SMART Board Control Panel.


Make sure the resident computer is on and press the COMPUTER 1 (LOCAL PC) button on the SMART Board Control Panel after the SMART Board has powered up. The SMART Board software will automatically load after you log in to the computer.

The cables needed for connecting a laptop computer are found on the rack by the SMART Board. Plug the VGA cable into your laptop's VGA port and tighten the thumbscrews to ensure a good connection. If you require access to the Internet or your campus-network resources, plug the Ethernet cable into your laptop's network jack (if equipped). If you need to play computer-audio, you will need to plug the audio cable into your laptop's headphone jack. Be sure the laptop's volume is not too low or muted.

For best results:

1. Power-up the equipment as described above.
2. Connect the required cables to your laptop as described above.
3. Plug in your laptop's AC power adaptor.
4. Press the COMPUTER 2 (LAPTOP) button on the SMART Board Control Panel.
5. Turn on your laptop's power.


To turn off the equipment, simply press the same power buttons that you used to power up the equipment. To turn off the LCD projector, press the POWER button twice on the SMART Board Control Panel.
