Touch the green ROOM STARTUP button on the white multi-button Crestron control panel (see Picture 5 above). This hard button device controls all of the equipment in the room.

After pressing ROOM STARTUP, wait 30 seconds before selecting the desired source button on the Crestron. The projector will not receive the command to switch until after it has finished warming up.

The projection screen is positioned so that the chalkboard and projector can be used simultaneously. It should not have to be moved, but can be adjusted  manually.

The adjustment of volume is done using the Crestron control panel. UP and DOWN buttons are located in lower-right corner of the control panel (see Picture 5 above). NOTE: Computers have their own volume controls which may need to be adjusted separately.

Press the POWER button on the resident computer to turn it on (see Picture 3 above). HO 109 is equipped with a rack mounted Mac Mini. USB and firewire ports are located next to the phone on the lectern. An additional USB port is found next to the computer's power button.

Once the computer has been powered up, press the yellow COMP button on the Crestron to display the image through both the monitor and LCD projector.

The Doc Cam’s power and lights must be turned on manually using the controls located on the camera itself. Click here for more information regarding the document camera found in this classroom.

Once the camera's power is on, press the yellow DOC CAM button on the Crestron to display the image through both the monitor and LCD projector.

Once the equipment is powered up, insert your disc or VHS tape into the DVD/VCR combo unit (see Picture 2 above). The combo unit is controlled using the Crestron. To display the DVD/VCR image on the LCD projector, press the appropriate yellow button on the Crestron (VCR or DVD/CD). The second row of buttons is for playback control, while DVD menu navigation is handled with the arrow buttons located beneath the playback buttons (see Picture 5 above).

The cables needed for connecting a laptop computer are found on the instructor’s lectern. Plug the VGA cable into your laptop's VGA port and tighten the thumbscrews to ensure a good connection. If you require access to the Internet or your campus-network resources, plug the Ethernet cable into your laptop's network jack. If you need to play computer-audio, you will need to plug the audio cable into your laptop's headphone jack. Be sure the laptop's volume is not too low or muted.

Press the yellow LAPTOP button on the Crestron to display the image on the LCD projector.

For best results:

1. Power-up the equipment as described above.
2. Connect the required cables to your laptop as described above.
3. Plug in your laptop's AC power adaptor.
4. Press the yellow LAPTOP button on the Crestron.
5. Turn on your laptop's power.

Due to the size of this room, a wireless microphone is available for use. Training on this system can be setup by contacting the Media Center.

Just below the green ROOM STARTUP button is a red ROOM SHUTDOWN button. Press it to turn off the LCD projector. The resident computer and document camera must be powered off separately. Be sure to remove any media from the equipment before shutting down.
