SMART Board Interactive Whiteboards and Sympodiums provide two different means of utilizing SMART's interactive whiteboard software. While the Interactive Whiteboard places the presenter at the board location with his/her finger as the mouse, Sympodiums allow for the presenter to remain at the lectern location with mouse control/annotation happening with a stylus used on the display.

SMART Board Interactive Whiteboards are located in CT 205, CT 207, DH 76, OM 308, and the Frisch Hall Conference Room, while SMART Sympodiums can be found in KAC G18 and OM 414.

In order to use a SMART Board Interactive Whiteboard or Sympodium, it must be connected to a computer with the proper software installed. CT 205, CT 207, DH 76, KAC G18, OM 308, and OM 414 each have a computer with the required software.

The Frisch Hall Conference, however, does not have a resident computer. A laptop with the proper software installed is necessary. When you are booking this space from Event Management (ext. 2180), be sure to request a Media Center Event Laptop if you plan on using the SMART Interactive Whiteboard. Instructions for connecting your laptop are found onsite.

Below you will find some recommended training materials from SMART Technologies’ website. These will provide you with important information on the use of this equipment. If you have questions or would like to schedule training, please contact the Media Center office at ext. 2590.
