The clinical laboratory science faculty are active members of the Workforce Innovation Council of the Buffalo and Erie County Workforce Investment Board. This group, made up of educators and local business and community leaders, was formed to create innovative solutions to the local workforce shortage in life sciences (notably clinical laboratory science and biotechnology). Canisius' reputation for producing quality professionals in the Clinical Laboratory Science field is the key reason for membership on this council.
