The renovation of St. Vincent's Church into a performing arts center was made possible, in part, by a $1.5 million gift from Carol and Carl Montante, to the Imagine Canisius campaign. The Montante's extraordinary gift ensured that the timeless beauty and integrity of the building was preserved.
A 1964 graduate of Canisius College, Carl Montante founded Uniland Development Company of Amherst in 1976 and serves as the company's CEO. Montante currently serves as chair of the Canisius College Board of Trustees and has leadership roles with numerous organizations throughout Western New York.
Carol (Lyons) Montante is a graduate of D'Youville College and serves on the D'Youville President's Advisory Council. She is also active with the Canisius College Scholarship Associates.
The Montantes reside in Clarence and have four children: Laura Ann (Zaepfel), a 1986 graduate of Canisius College; Carl Joseph; Michael John, a 1991 graduate of Canisius; and Timothy Ian.
