Starr’s New Book Chronicles Buffalo’s Golden Age of Sports
Daniel P. Starr, PhD, professor
emeritus of history, chronicles post-World War II sports in the Queen City, in his new book
The Golden Age of Buffalo Sports. The book details the explosion of sports and the roles that baseball, basketball, football and hockey teams played in Buffalo, during the pre-television era. In addition, the book highlights the playing days of some of the city’s most revered athletes, including George Ratterman, Bob MacKinnon, Leroy Chollet, and Joe and Phil Muscato.

Canisius’ Newest Peace Officer Sworn In
Gary Everett, director of public safety, swears in Canisius College’s newest public safety officer, Fred Sarden on Monday, January 12. Sarden was recently promoted from the position of security officer.
