Three Days Left to Visit Canisius’ Mini-Zoo

There are just three days left to visit this year’s Canisius mini-zoo. “Tropical Trek: From Dusk til Dawn in the Amazon,” is free and open to the public from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in Health Science Room 316.  In “Tropical Trek” take a walk through a simulated rainforest, and see a six-banded armadillo, a prehensile porcupine and a douracouli night monkey, which are all on loan from the Buffalo Zoo. Their habitats were designed by students in the Canisius College Zoology Program, under the guidance of Michael Noonan, PhD, director of Zoo Biology Program and Kevin J. Murphy ’86, Buffalo Zoo curator.

Experience the Spirit of the Holiday Season
With holiday time right around the corner, there are many opportunities right here at Canisius to get with touch with the true spirit of the season, and give back to those less fortunate in our community.

  • Do you have any unused travel-sized shampoo, toothpaste, body wash or lotion at home? Or how about that basket collection you’ll never use? Why not get those items together and make a donation to this year’s STEPS Committee collection for VIVE LA CASA refugee shelter?  In this case, “re-gifting” is acceptable! All donations will be assembled into useful gift baskets and delivered to VIVE by members of Alpha Sigma Nu, the Jesuit Honor Society. Please deliver any baskets or supplies by December 5 to:
    • Debbie Abrahamson in Lyons Hall Room 102
    • Dena Bowman in Churchill Tower Room 615
    • Natalie Klyczek in Health Science Room 202
    • Diane Wolfe in Old Main Room 013
    • Barb Wozniak in Horan O’Donnell Room 003
For more information, please call Barb Wozniak in the Office of Student Retention at Ext. 3737.
