Public Safety Staff Honored for Storm Service

History Department Journal Honored
The Department of History’s student journal, The Frank Walter Historical Review, was awarded second prize in the Nash History Journal Prize. The competition is sponsored by Phi Alpha Theta, the national history honor society. The publication is the work of students in the Canisius chapter of Phi Alpha Theta, under the supervision of Jonathan Mercantini, PhD, assistant professor of history.

Loughead, Students Present on Jesuit and Feminist Education

Tanya M. Loughead, PhD, assistant professor of philosophy and four of her students presented a panel entitled “Reflecting on the Jesuit Goal of Justice: Feminist Liberation at Home and/or at Work” at the Jesuit and Feminist Education: Transformative Discourses for Teaching & Learning conference held at Fairfield University in Fairfield, CT from October 27-29.

At the same conference, Jane E. Fisher, PhD, associate professor of English and director of the Women’s Studies Program presented a panel entitled “Women’s Studies Director at a Jesuit College: Not an Oxymoron;” and Sarah Signorino ’04, associate campus minister, presented a panel entitled, "Casting Nets, Casting Stones: The Creation of Retreat."
