A New Way to Select Library Books
The library subscribes to a new book selection tool developed by Yankee Book Peddler, an established vendor which specializes in academic resources.  Each week faculty members will receive an E-mail message from GobiMessage@ybp.com.  The subject will be GOBI2 GobiAlert.  The message will either indicate that there are no titles for review or will provide you with a link to a list of titles in your subject area.  To view the titles you must temporarily disable your pop-up blocker.  Because the messages are sent out in bulk, they may find their way into your junk mail.  Detailed instructions about viewing the titles and submitting your selections will be sent to faculty via E-mail. If you have questions, contact Barbara Boehnke at Ext. 2937.

Need Help With Writing a Paper???
The Tutoring Center and the Bouwhuis Library have joined forces to offer students a walk-in service to provide solutions in the mechanics of writing papers. Every Tuesday and Thursday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., a tutor is available in the Library Instruction Room located on the first floor. No appointment is necessary.

Students can get assistance in using style guides, simple sentence structure, citation of references and the use of writing in English as a second language. Please spread the word to your students.

Document Camera Training Information
Depending on which Instructional Technology Classroom (ITC) you use at Canisius, you may not find a traditional overhead projector, but instead a document camera. If you’ve ever wanted to find out more about this device, here’s your chance.

To learn more about the document cameras available in ITCs (their features, possible applications and operating procedures) visit the Media Center’s Web site at www.canisius.edu/mediacenter and click the Learn about Document Cameras link.
