Campbell Wins NetGazette Holiday Contest

Charles N. Campbell, housekeeper and NetGazette contest winner, poses with his new Canisius College blanket.

Nearly 70 Canisius employees participated in the NetGazette Holiday Contest to guess how many Christmas lights it takes to decorate the campus. Housekeeper Charles N. Campbell is the lucky winner of the grand prize of a Canisius College blanket. Campbell’s guess of 15,258 came closest to the correct answer of 16,870, without going over.

Ellen O. Conley, PhD, vice president for student affairs, and Thomas W. Evans, periodicals librarian, both won lunch for two in the Faculty Dining Room.  Conley and Evans both guessed 15,000 lights.

Prizes were donated courtesy of Tony Marchewka, bookstore manager and Bob Mottola, director of Chartwells. Special thanks to Kevin Kwitzer, building services supervisor, facilities management for counting all those lights – and for keeping the answer a secret!
