Additional appointments in the College Relations Division include J. Patrick Greenwald and Dianna Civello. Greenwald was named director of principal gifts. In this newly-created position, Greenwald will focus his fund-raising efforts toward the college’s most significant alumni and friends. Dianna Civello is now director of development for major gifts and manages the college’s major gift officers. Civello joined Canisius in 2003 as a development officer. Previously, she was director of development/capital campaign director of The Buffalo Seminary. In addition, she has more than 20 years experience teaching at both the high school and college levels.
Canisius Mock Trial Team Places Third in National Competition
The Canisius College Mock Trial team under the advisement of Robert A. Klump, adjunct professor of political science, took third place honors in its first ever appearance in the national pre-law mock trial competition sponsored by the international law fraternity Phi Alpha Delta (PAD).
The Canisius team included Larissa Thompson ’07, Daniel Wieglas ’10, William Lorenz Jr. ’09 and Cathleen Roemer ’10. More than twenty teams representing pre-law chapters from throughout the U.S. participated in the 2006 mock trial competition held in conjunction with PAD’s national conference in Washington, D.C. in November.
