Leave the Driving and Parking to NFTA
Did you know that Canisius College offers a tax savings program for NFTA commuters?  The program currently has a membership of 11.  All purchases are made on a pre-tax basis – providing another savings for those using the NFTA.  Faculty and staff may purchase a monthly flash-a-pass for $55.00, suburban flash-a-pass for $66.00 or 20 tokens for $27.00.

How does it work?  Orders must be placed by the 15th of the month for passes effective the first of the following month.  Purchases will be made with pre-tax dollars simply by completing a pre-tax election form.  If you are interested in participating, please call Jennifer Skowron in Human Resources at Ext. 2247 by the 15th of the month.  The cost will be deducted from your next paycheck.

Carpooling Continues to Grow – Spaces Still Available
Since the last publication of the Netgazette, our carpooling numbers have grown.  Currently there are 16 sets of carpoolers (32 people) which will result in 16 fewer cars on campus.

Although the numbers have grown, spaces are still available for those interested in carpooling.  For more information, call Human Resources at Ext. 2240.

Understanding Your W-2 Form Wage and Tax Statement
Canisius W-2 forms were distributed with paychecks in January.  Checks and W-2 forms not picked up by January 24 were mailed to employees’ homes.  The W-2 is your wage and tax statement and must be included when filing your tax return.  To help you better understand the W-2, the Human Resources Office has prepared a list of FAQs.  To access the FAQs, click here.  Questions regarding the W-2 form may also be directed to the Payroll Office at Ext. 2841.
