The college's pie throwing contest to benefit Camp Good Days and Special Times on Wednesday, March 13 received tremendous media coverage.

  • The Buffalo News ran a photo of Debbie Abrahamson, technician for the Admissions Office, receiving "a pie in the eye."
  • Channel 4 News covered the contest on its noon, 5:30 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. newscasts.
  • Channel 7 News aired the contest on the 6:30 p.m. newscast.

Esther Northman, director of International Student Programs, was interviewed for an article by Buffalo News reporters Holly Auer and Stephen Watson on the errors that occur with international student visas. The article ran in the Monday, March 18 edition.

Adelphia Crossroads interviewed Amanda Fox '04 and Sean Berry '02 about their upcoming trip to Appalachia as part of the college's Spring Break Service Project. The program aired at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20.

Dr. Michael Haselswerdt, chair of political science, provided expert comment in an article by Buffalo News reporter Michael Beebe on Arthur Eve's retirement from the New York State Assembly. The story ran in the Sunday, March 24 edition.

Dr. Cary Anderson, dean of students, was interviewed about teenage drinking and the Bacchus Cookout was covered on Channel 7 News on Monday, March 25. The segment aired during the 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. newscasts.

 



Winter 1961 -­ WKBW-TV began broadcasting a series of programs titled "Canisius College Forum," which was supervised by Dr. Edward O'Connor, director of special projects. The program aired through the summer of 1962.
