CSW to Host Dessert and Conversation
The Committee on the Status of Women will host Dessert and Conversation on Wednesday, April 14 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. in the Regis Room South.  Bring your lunch or pick some up in the dining hall and catch up on what’s happening around campus. Canisius Welcomes National Health Care Reform Advocate
Deborah Richter, MD, past president of Physicians for a National Health Program (PNHP), will speak under the auspices of the Canisius College Corporal Works of Mercy Lecture Series on Thursday, April 15 at 8:00 p.m. in the Montante Cultural Center. Political Scientist James Q. Wilson to Speak on Campus
Renowned social commentator and political scientist Dr. James Q. Wilson will speak on Tuesday, April 20 at 8:15 p.m. in the Grupp Fireside Lounge, on the topic, “Was the Invasion of Iraq a Just War?” The event is part of the Frank G. Center for the Global Study of Religion Presents “Conversations in Christ & Culture” Lecture
Wednesday, April 21, Dr. Mark Heim, the Samuel Abbot Professor of Christian Theology at Andover Newton Theological Seminary, will give a lecture entitled, “Is Jesus the Only Way?” in the Regis Room at 7:30 p.m. For more information, contact Dr. Tim Wadkins, associate professor of religious studies, Ext. 2820 or click here.

Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day
April 22 is Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day (formerly Take Our Daughters to Work Day). Canisius welcomes the children of faculty, staff and administrators. We trust that parents will take measures to ensure their children's safety. The Ms. Foundation for Women started Take Our Daughters to Work Day ten years ago to encourage children to reach their potential by participating fully in family, work and community.

Shoes for Shelter Run/Walk
More than 400 people came out in the glorious sunshine to run or walk in the sixth annual Shoes for Shelter 5K run, presented by Canisius College and BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York on March 28 in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Lt. Col. James Bagwell, chair of military science, was the top finisher among Canisius' staff, with a time of 21:24. He finished seventh in his age group (men 40 - 49) and 33rd overall. Ellen Hamm, associate professor of education, was the top female finisher among Canisius’ staff, with a time of 24:18. She finished third in her age group (women 30 – 39) and 76th overall.

Did_You_Know
Participants in the Shoes for Shelter Run donated 1,017 pairs of shoes for the St. Vincent de Paul Society.  That's a 40% increase over last year.
