Canisius Partners with Mt. St. Joseph Academy

Canisius College and Mount St. Joseph Academy are now more than just neighbors. The two have formed a new partnership that will provide students at both institutions with outstanding educational opportunities.
Mount St. Joseph Academy students in pre-K through grade eight will enjoy enhanced programs of instruction, especially in the areas of writing, the arts, and health and wellness. Canisius education students will work with Mount faculty to supplement instructional and mentoring services. Canisius will also provide consultation and staff development opportunities in a variety of areas including technology, mathematics, science and physical education.

Commencement 2005

With years of hard work behind them, graduates relax before the commencement ceremony.
Thousands of family and friends packed UB's Alumni Arena to celebrate with the Canisius College class of 2005. Even though this much anticipated day is now over, the memories will remain with graduates for years to come. Congratulations to our newest Canisius alumni!

Congratulations to This Year's Employee Graduates

A special congratulation goes to Veronica Serwacki, who received the Rev. Francis O'Malley, S.J., Memorial Award. She graduated with a 4.0 grade point average!!!
ROTC Commissioning
The Canisius College ROTC program recently commissioned its 52nd class of officers into the U.S. Army. Thirteen cadets from the Golden Griffin Battalion became second lieutenants on May 20 in the Montante Cultural Center. Lt. Col. James M. Bagwell, chair of military science, performed the ceremony. Maj. Gen. Robert Adams '55 (Ret.) gave the keynote speech.

Maher is New Director of Athletics
Canisius alumnus Bill Maher '89 is the college's new director of athletics.
Maher spent the last seven years at the University at Buffalo, the last two as interim athletic director. He also previously served as assistant athletic director for Canisius.
Major accomplishments during his tenure at UB include oversight of $3.6 million in capital improvements to its athletic facilities, restructure of the of the school's fund drive for athletics, and development of marketing campaigns which have increased attendance at athletic events.
Maher was selected after a nationwide search and will take over his new post July 1, 2005. He replaces Tim Dillon, who resigned last February. For more information, click here.
