Workshops on Information Literacy and Writing in the Core Offered
The Core Curriculum Committee (CCC) will offer two half-day workshops, one on “Writing in the Core” and one on the development of “Information Literacy.” The workshops will be conducted by
Kris Kasbohm (Information Literacy) and
Rita Capezzi (Writing in the Core), with assistance from other members of the CCC and CCC working groups. The workshops will be repeated, so when you register, you only need to register for one set, or you may attend one on one day and another on a different day. For planning purposes, we ask that you register.

What We Will Do:
Review CCC document defining the Core learning goal (Writing or Information Literacy)
Work on strategies for incorporating the goal into existing or new courses (bring relevant syllabi, drafts or activities/assignments).
Anyone who is interested in incorporating strategies for development of information literacy or writing skills into their current courses, faculty teaching ENG 101, PHI 101 and RST 101, representatives from these Core departments and anyone interested in proposing FYS 101 sections are encouraged to attend.

Archives News
Kathleen DeLaney, Canisius College archivist, was elected co-chair of the New York Archives Conference, a statewide organization chartered by the State Education Department to support and promote the education and professional discourse of members of the archival profession and users and supporters of Archives residing in New York State.
