WELCOME BACK!

The fall 2002 semester is underway and students and faculty alike are thrilled with the new improvements to the campus.
Most visible is the greatly enhanced Quadrangle with its red brick patio, wider sidewalks and beautiful new trees and shrubs. The Koessler Plaza was extended 25 feet out to Loyola Hall, new street-lamp and ground lighting was installed and an improved drainage system was constructed to eliminate flooding problems. The Quad is already proving to be a gathering place where the Canisius community can relax, study and reflect.
Students are also amazed by the transformation of the Peter Gust Economou Dining Hall. "I couldn't believe it was the same place," said Julie Anna Golebiewski '04. "I love the welcoming atmosphere. It looks more like a restaurant than a cafeteria."

The dining hall now has a park-like setting, complete with wall murals and illuminated kites suspended from the ceiling. Streetlights hang from pillars and seating is more intimate with booths and tables of four and six. The menu includes countless choices and selections.
The final phase of the $16 million Delavan Townhouse project is complete and the townhouses are now home to 325 Canisius students. The 2, 3, 4, and 5 bedroom apartments include computer access, cable TV, local phone service and air conditioning. The townhouses also include a 6,000 square foot community center with laundry facilities, a game room and a computer lounge.
And last, but certainly not least, the $1.2 million Koessler Athletic Center renovation is complete. The renovation included the installation of 1,100 chair back seats and 1,000 bleacher seats earlier this year, which doubled the seating capacity of the gym. Now fans can enjoy the luxury of padded bleachers when they root for the Griffs! The Koessler's dropped ceiling in the gym was removed and the electrical, ventilation and acoustical system was upgraded. Final touches included a new sound system and refinished hardwood floors.
So, take a break and sit in the beautiful Quad, experience lunch in the new dining hall and come cheer for your favorite Golden Griffin team in the newly-renovated KAC!
