ITC Classroom Upgrades for Fall 2006
Welcome back from the Media Center! This summer saw technology improvements in a number of classrooms here on campus. Old Main 214, 225, 314, 320, 408, 410 and 414 all received new NEC VT676E LCD projectors, which produce a brighter and higher quality image than the Sanyo projectors previously in those rooms. Lyons Hall 122, 303 and Horan O’Donnell 202 also now have these LCD projectors. Other upgraded rooms received NEC VT670 LCD projectors; those rooms include Old Main 210, Lyons Hall 307, Health Science 219, 220 and 221. These upgrades were the final step in the Media Center’s plan to replace the older Sanyo XU-22 projectors throughout the instructional technology classrooms on the main campus.
In addition to these new LCD projectors, Old Main 210, 214, 225, 314, 320, 408, 410, 414 and Horan O’Donnell 202 also have brand new SONY DVD players and Old Main 201 and 303 had Elmo Document Cameras installed.
At the Center at Amherst, the computer lab and Classroom E received brand new NEC VT676E LCD projectors, and Classroom E has a new DVD/VCR combo unit.
Finally, improvements were made to Koessler Athletic Center G-18. This room was upgraded to a Level 3 instructional technology classroom. It now sports a Mitsubishi LCD projector, a new DVD/VCR combo unit, and a PC computer, as well as supporting laptop connectivity.
The Koessler Athletic Center also now has a classroom recovery cart. This unit houses a DVD/VCR combo unit, LCD projector, built-in speakers, and supports laptop connectivity. In addition, the cart can be used with the optional 9-inch tripod screen in spaces where no screen is provided. Training on the use of the cart will be handled by the Media Center, but requests to use it should go through Gordon Anthony at Ext. 2934.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns about instructional technology in the classroom or would like to schedule training, please feel free to contact the Media Center office at Ext. 2950.
