Canisius Women’s Leadership Conference Nominated for People’s Choice Outstanding Event Award

The Canisius College Women’s Leadership Conference held at the Buffalo Convention Center in October 2009, has been nominated for the Buffalo Events Network People’s Choice Outstanding Event Awards. Gansworth Collaborates On From The Western Door To The Lower West Side
From the Western Door to the Lower West Side is a recently published collaboration of
Eric Gansworth, professor of English and Lowery Writer-in-Residence and photographer Milton Rogovin. The Burchfield Penney Art Center will celebrate the book’s launch with a reading on Sunday, October 25, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held in the Burchfield Penney Art Center Auditorium at Buffalo State College, 1300 Elmwood Avenue. A question and answer period, book signing and reception will follow the formal presentation.
From the Western Door to the Lower West Side (White Pine Press), is a book-length cycle of Gansworth’s poems that interact with Rogovin’s photographs to form a unique experience, which blends the written word and visual images.

Cochrane’s “Butterflies” Among Top Ten Sports Books for Youth

The Girl Who Threw Butterflies, the latest book by
Mick Cochrane, PhD, professor of English and Lowery Writer in Residence, as one of 2009’s Top Ten Sports Books for Youth.
