Video Institute Presents Wright Screening, Talk
Tuesday, September 12 at 7:30 p.m.
The Canisius College Video Institute will present a video screening of their documentary about Frank Lloyd Wright’s Rowing Boathouse on Tuesday, September 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Grupp Fireside Lounge located in the college’s Richard E. Winter ’42 Student Center. Wright's famed rowing boathouse designed in 1905, will be constructed in Buffalo on the site adjacent to the West Side Rowing Club.
The evening will also include a talk by Sharon Courtin, executive director of the Frank Lloyd Wright Boathouse Corp., who will discuss the impact and the cultural richness the boathouse will bring to the region. The evening, which is free and open to the public, will conclude with a discussion with Jennifer Eberhart ’08 and Jesse Koch ’07, the Canisius video production team.
The Canisius College Video Institute provides students with the opportunity to put their classroom lessons to work on projects that will benefit the college and the community at large. Students produce documentaries and promotional videos for local and international not-for-profit and service agencies that otherwise would not have the resources to tell their stories in this way.
The Canisius College Video Institute is funded in part by the John R. Oishei Foundation and directed by Barbara Irwin, PhD, chair of the Communication Studies Department.
