BUFFALO, NY − Canisius College will present Polish Film Showcase 2009 from Thursday, November 5 to Sunday, November 8. The event, which is sponsored by The Permanent Chair of Polish Culture at Canisius College, will be held at several different venues listed below:
• Thursday, November 5 at the Riviera Theatre, 67 Webster St., North Tonawanda.
o “Kinematograf” (animation, 2009) directed by Tomek Bagiński, at 6 p.m.
o “Mala Moskwa” (Little Moscow) directed by Waldemar Krzystek at 6:30 p.m. Meet the director at 8:30 p.m.
• Friday, November 6 at the Montante Cultural Center at Canisius College, 2001 Main Street, Buffalo.
o “General Nil” (2009) directed by Ryszard Bugajski at 6 p.m.
• Saturday, November 7 at the Palace Theatre, 31 Buffalo Street, Hamburg
o “Children in Exile: Recollections of Children Deported to the Soviet Gulag,” (documentary, 2007), directed by Chris Swider, at 3 p.m.
o Rysa (“Scratch,” 2008), directed by Michal Rosa, at 4 p.m.
• Sunday, November 8 at the Montante Cultural Center
o “Ile waży koń trojanski? (How Much Does the Trojan Horse Weigh? 2008), directed by Juliusz Machulski, at 2 p.m.
