Web Site Wins Top Spot
Admissions pages ranked first in the country by The Red Dot Group
Buffalo, NY – The Canisius College Web site admissions pages (www.canisius.edu) were recently ranked first in the Red Dot Group’s Enrollment Power Index (EPITM) of top colleges and universities admissions pages in the United States.
Nearly 2,000 colleges and universities from across the country, including Duke University, the University of Iowa, Berklee College of Music, the University of Connecticut, the University at Buffalo and Michigan State University, competed for the top spot.
The Red Dot Group, a Missouri-based firm providing innovative technology and consulting to higher education, uses the Enrollment Power Index to help colleges and universities nationwide streamline and strengthen their admissions Web sites.
EPI measures how a Web site takes students from prospect to applicant through a variety of pre-determined standards. EPI is an indicator that a college or university admissions page reached or exceeded high standards of Web functionality and design.
Evaluation criteria included the prominence of admissions links; admissions page appeal; online access to application materials; ability to pay fees online; helpful links to college entrance sites; ease of navigation; and the ability to contact the admissions office.
The Canisius College Web site was created in association with LiquidMatrix Corp. of Orchard Park, NY, using their ActiveCampus™ product. Since launching the new Canisius Web site, applications online for fall 2001 admission have increased by 188 percent compared to applications online for fall, 2000 admission.
