Variety of events and concerts scheduled
BUFFALO, NY –ArtsCanisius presents the following performances:
· Wednesday, April 10 – Canisius College will host an Informally Formal Chamber Concert at 7:30 p.m. in the college’s Montante Cultural Center. Admission is $12.00 for the general public; $7.00 for students.
· Thursday, April 11 – Dr. Marcella Branagan, a member of the piano faculty at Alleghany College in Meadville, Pennsylvania and a member of the music faculty at Buffalo State College, will perform on piano at 2:30 p.m. in the college’s Montante Cultural Center. Admission is free and open to the public.
· Monday, April 15 – Meet-the-Faculty Recital, featuring Marlene Witnauer, adjunct instructor of music, on flute at 12:30 p.m. in the Montante Cultural Center. Admission is free and open to the public.
· Monday, April 22 – Marie Vahue, adjunct assistant professor of art history, will present “Woman as Muse: Women artists as Models” at 12:30 p.m. in the Regis Room, located in the college’s Richard E. Winter ’42 Student Center. Admission is free and open to the public.
Vahue will discuss two French female artists, Camille Claudel and Burthe Morisot, who not only created their own art but were also used as models by other artists.
· Tuesday, April 23 – The Canisius College Concert Band will perform, under the direction of Matthew Cool, at 7:00 p.m. in the Montante Cultural Center. Admission is free and open to the public.
· Wednesday, April 24 – The Canisius College Jazz Ensemble will perform, under the direction of Peter Ciraolo, at 7:00 p.m. in the Montante Cultural Center. Admission is $3.00.
· Sunday, April 28 – The Canisius College Chamber Orchestra will perform, under the direction of Ansgarius Aylward, at 7:00 p.m. in the Montante Cultural Center. Admission is free and open to the public.
· Saturday, May 4 – The Canisius College Chorale will perform, under the direction of Frank Scinta, at 7:30 p.m. in the Montante Cultural Center. Admission is free and open to the public.
