ROTC Commissioning at Canisius College

The Army Reserve Officers Training Corp (ROTC) program at Canisius College will commission 15 cadets as second lieutenants during a ceremony on Friday, May 16 at 10 a.m. The ceremony will take place in the Montante Cultural Center, located at the corner of Main Street and Eastwood Place.

Seven students attend Canisius College, six attend the State University of New York at Buffalo, and two attend Buffalo State College. Two additional cadets will be commissioned at a later date. The Canisius students being commissioned are:

  • Andrew Bomba, a criminal justice major, active duty, has been assigned to the Transportation Corps, 664th Ordnance Company at Ft. Hood, TX.
  • Mary Floyd, amathematics and statistics major, active duty, has no follow on unit assigned yet.
  • Daniel Fosdick, apsychology/criminal justice dual major, has been assigned to Army National Guard, Medical Services, 2-101 Cavalry, Buffalo, NY.
  • Kaitlin Lafferty, an anthropology major, active duty, has been assigned to Quartermaster Corps, 1st BDE, 10th Mountain Division, Ft. Drum, NY,
  • Richard Looby, a psychology major, has been assigned to the Army National Guard, Aviation, Detachment 1, Company B, 3-126th Aviation Division, Rochester, NY.
  • Mark Osadnick, an anthropology major, active duty, has been assigned to Quartermaster Corps, 1st BDE, 10th Mountain Division, Ft. Drum, NY.
  • Connor Thrun, finance major, active duty, has been granted an educational delay and receipt of a scholarship to attend medical school to become an Army doctor.
