When I look around me I see God in so many ways: walking the beach or neighborhood, experiencing the beauty of nature, caring for my aging parents, visiting patients in their final stages of life, speaking with a prospective donor about a charity, socializing with friends or attending a trustee meeting.
Canisius has "re-discovered" its identity to a whole new degree since the time I was a student here, and I am encouraged and excited to again be a member of this Jesuit, Catholic university. As a trustee I can assist in ensuring that the Jesuit ideals continue for the betterment of our students, faculty, administrators, boards and staff.
My surroundings make me more aware of all God has blessed me with; I am thankful and more cognizant of what I can contribute to improve the quality of life for others. Love of God and love of our neighbor is the Great Commandment I try to follow more comprehensively in my daily life. It is wonderful to assist, in even a small way, making another person more comfortable, more content, happier, better educated or more fulfilled. God has bestowed on me more than I ever dreamed. In return, I strive to give others more of my time, attention, concern and love.
My magis is simply to show more love to people in the world.
